Special Memories of Paul… By Eva

When I think about Paul, I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly blessed that I had him in my life – if only for a terribly short time.

They just don’t make ‘em like Paul – kind, loving, brave, talented and fucking hilarious.

Sometimes we forget that although loving someone as much as we love Paul can be so painful at times like these, it is that same love which allowed us to feel the warmth of Paul’s spirit in the first place.

I found this poem by Maya Angelou – I hope you like it.

We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure

from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
